Quality Foot Care...

Is Life-Changing

Exceptional on-site foot care services for Okanagan seniors living in the finest facilities. Caring, personalized foot care provided by nursing professionals.

Getting older often means increased foot pain.

Loss of padding, bunions, problem toenails and various medical diagnosis’ can severely limit our ability to participate fully in activities and even get around pain-free.

Health conditions such as arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, circulatory issues, diabetes, dementia, and everyday limitations that naturally come with aging can make personal foot care difficult, if not impossible to maintain.

Foot issues can quickly escalate, causing a lot of discomfort, pain and potentially requires medical intervention.

And our senior citizens – your residents – are most at risk.

You’re in the business of helping your residents enjoy life to the fullest.

You’ve built incredible facilities and setup countless activities and programs, in fitting with your company’s reputation. And you know how important foot health can be for your residents’ quality of life.

Yet you don’t have the in-house tools, equipment, expertise, or the capacity, to create and manage another essential program. YOU NEED a foot care program that supports your seniors and matches the high standards and excellent quality of living your establishment is known for.

My mom’s feet hurt so much she could barely get out of her chair to walk across the room.

“My mom has diabetes and very limited mobility, which has made professional foot care essential. She was so nervous on her first visit–she has a very low pain tolerance but her One Step Foot Care nurse was so gentle with her and had endless patience.

After her initial examination, the nurse did an excellent job of trimming and thinning out some challenging, thick toenails and dealing with a tricky ingrown toenail. Her feet looked SO much better and my mom was absolutely delighted. “It’s like I”m walking on air!” Now she’s counting down the days until the next visit!”

Better Balance = Fewer Falls

Healthy pain-free feet help our seniors maintain better balance, which means fewer stumbles and falls. And fewer life-threatening injuries.

In addition to foot care, our nurses have the option to provide hand care and polish application. Because everyone deserves to feel their best.

We are so fortunate to have such a caring and trusting company perform feet care for my Mom.

“Kaarina of One Step Foot Care has been attending Summerland Seniors Village to perform foot care on my 98 year old mother every 6-8 weeks. My mother just loves Kaarina’s visits and how wonderful her feet feel when her treatment is over – we still have this service performed even though my Mom is in a wheelchair; she also gets her nails manicured at the same time. Kaarina’s service is a very important part of my mother’s care and she loves her visit very much.”

What to expect in a One Step Foot Care session:

1

We coordinate with your team to find the best days and times to attend to your residents on-site. Our foot care nurses attend each session with a personal, compassionate touch.

2

We greet each new client with warmth and a smile as we introduce ourselves and ensure they are comfortable and know what to expect.

3

Each session begins with an assessment of the lower limbs to determine the overall health, mobility and circulation of the feet. A treatment plan is devised and any issues requiring intervention are identified.

4

Toenails are trimmed and filed smooth. Management and care of corns, calluses and other trouble areas are addressed. Feet are cleansed and a moisturizing foot rub is delivered.

5

Used tools are set aside and prepped for sterilization for our next visit. Our nurses follow the highest standards of practice as outlined by their nursing regulations and adhere strictly to Sterilization Techniques and Infection Control practices.

6

We again touch base with your team to inform them we’ve completed our appointments for the day and to discuss any questions or concerns for the residents.

Any socks purchased will be left with the receptionist for distribution.
